My son has grown in confidence since attending the British Martial Arts Academy. Both he and I really look forward to his lessons and enjoy the friendly community spirit forged amongst the children and parents.
The instructors are very dedicated and patient with the students.
Since my son Jamie has started at the Academy his confidence has grown and he has become fitter. He was quite tubby when he started but over these last few months he has become leaner and more active. He loves the Academy and Mr Nixon is his hero, he absolutely loves him as a teacher. Good lessons, good atmosphere and great bunch of kids. Well done Mr Nixon
After attending the Academy for almost 18 months now, I can honestly say that you will not find a better Martial Arts School in the area. The chief instructor Mr Nixon is a well trained and knowledgeable teacher with a copious amount of patience to go with it. This isn't just a place to learn to fight, but more a place to understand the world of martial arts and all the practices that go with it, like sword play and bo staff training and other various martial arts weaponary practices. For the keener students who wish to compete in martial arts competitions, this is an ideal place as there are separate classes away from the regular syllabus training that will get you up to speed with sparring and competition fighting.
There are some good instructors at this Academy all with a good amount of knowledge and training under their belt and who are more than capable of instructing people of all levels, from complete novice first timers to advanced students. Anyone looking to take up a modern and streetwise martial art in a very friendly environment can be assured that the BMAA in Rotherham is the place to do it.
Since starting martial arts classes with Mr Nixon my son has become more confident in himself as well as becoming fitter. The classes are taught in a relaxing atmosphere and there is no pressure on the students.
My grandson had a short concentration span and was easily distracted especially at school, since he took up martial arts he has steadily improved. By performing routines it has helped his concentration and memory. He is also now doing well at school so I would recommend martial arts especially for children with problems it as helps build their confidence.
My son and I joined Mr Nixon around 2 years ago. In that time my 14 year old son has grown in confidence, self defence and health. I, as a 50 year old man, have had a new challenge, built confidence and most of all have lost a huge amount of weight. The classes are disciplined yet friendly and relaxed. I have met a large number of people.
Lewis and Cory have grown in confidence since starting at the Academy. They can talk to Mr Nixon whenever they need to. Cory has done very well because at only 10 years of age he has achieved his black belt.
Mr Nixon has the patience of a saint with children always trying to ensure they training is fun yet firm enough to maintain order and respect. The support of young black belt members during training also helps to encourage learning. My son has improved greatly both physically and in his self control and respect for others.
The classes are very friendly and are run very professionally. This has given Sam a lot more confidence in himself.
Danny's enjoyed his years at BMAA. He has learned many valuable life skills as well as martial arts and self defence including discipline, friendship, trust, responsibility, self motivation and commitment. I would highly recommend the Academy.
Bradley joined Mr Nixon's class at the age of 4. He is in the next two weeks to grade for his blue belt black stripe and is only 6 years old. Bradley's confidence has accelerated his concentration skills and his communication skills have improved.
I would like to say that I am pleased with the results my son has achieved whilst in the Academy. I have found it has given Daniel confidence and is excellent for fitness. He has also made good friends whilst attending class.
I think it has given Daniel the confidence to express his opinions without being afraid. He tends to also stick up for people who are afraid to express themselves. I do not unduly worry about Daniel when he is out as I know he has the skills to look after himself if he needs to.
May I take this opportunity to thank you for your hard work and say how much I appreciate the difference you and the Academy have made to Daniel's future.
